Lauren Thomas
Hey there! I’m Lauren Thomas, a licensed psychotherapist who’s been in the field for eight years now. In my practice, I utilize a psychodynamic foundation to help you understand your past, an IFS base to promote learning in your present, and mindfulness tools to cultivate resilience for your future. In my practice, I strive to provide a compassionate and culturally affirming space for growth and learning! Sessions include unpacking past traumas, unhelpful narratives about yourself and others as well as compassionate accountability to truly invoke positive change for the future. I prioritize a core belief that mindfulness is necessary in every stage of therapeutic growth and often incorporate Interventions such as Brainspotting to deepen awareness into how past pain is impacting you in the here and now!
Areas of Expertise
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is one of collaboration, connection, trust, & respect. As a team, we’ll address & overcome the barriers blocking you from living the life you deserve. I help Black and Biracial women as well as ALL marginalized folks conquer anxiety, depression, trauma, throughout all life transitions in order to lead a life that is more authentic and fulfilling. As a certified Mindfulness Educator trained in Brainspotting, I believe in incorporating mindfulness practice into our therapeutic work to strengthen your ability to remain present & mindful throughout your journey, both in therapy & beyond. The goal is not just to survive, but to thrive! In our work together, I will never insist I know the best way, but rather walk beside you, providing support & care while you discover your own true path to balance & fulfillment.
