Stephanie Dasher
I’m an LPC-A in South Carolina under the supervision of Maia Gill, PhD (SC# 1202) and a Certified Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Practitioner. I work with adults (18+) navigating anxiety, chronic stress, trauma-related symptoms, depression, major life transitions, and relationship or identity challenges. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, grounded in both nervous-system work and evidence-based therapies. In session, I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, mindfulness-based approaches (MBCT), Emotionally Focused and person-centered therapy, as well as somatic and sensorimotor-informed strategies. We might work with thoughts and core beliefs, nervous system regulation, patterns in relationships, and the deeper stories you carry about yourself and your life. Before opening my private practice, I led a surf-therapy nonprofit for veterans and their families, which deeply informs how I support people who feel overextended, stuck in survival mode, or unsure how to come back to themselves after difficult experiences. In our work together, my goal is to offer a grounded, collaborative space where you can understand what’s happening inside, build practical tools, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is collaborative, somatically informed, and rooted in evidence-based care. I see therapy as a place where we slow down enough to really notice what’s happening in your thoughts, emotions, body, and relationships and then work together to make meaningful, sustainable change. That might look like: exploring core beliefs and patterns, building nervous-system regulation skills, experimenting with new ways of relating to yourself and others, and connecting your present struggles to past experiences without getting stuck there. I believe you’re the narrator of your lived experiences, and that the wisdom you need to integrate those lived experiences is already inside you. I would be honored to walk with you as you navigate that path.
