Approach to Therapy
I'm an Internal Family Systems Practitioner trained through all three levels of the IFS Institute, with additional training in neurodivergent-affirming approaches. I've been practicing for over five years, working exclusively via telehealth with adults in Colorado. My approach is built on a simple premise: real change means you don't have to rely on willpower. When the internal conditions shift — when the parts of you running old protective patterns no longer need to — behavior changes without forcing it. That shift almost always involves working with chronic shame, which is the underlying driver of most of what brings people to therapy: anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship rupture, and the feeling of being fundamentally unacceptable. In session I'm direct, engaged, and genuinely curious. I take your nervous system seriously. I'm not a good fit for clients looking primarily for symptom management or coping tools — the work here has a direction.
