Cristina Louk

I am a specialized ADHD and Trauma practitioner and Approved Supervisor, and I have been in clinical practice since 2017. As the founder of Peace Humanistic Therapy in Woodinville, Washington, I have dedicated my career to bridging the gap between clinical science and soulful healing. My background includes a diverse range of leadership and clinical roles, from serving as the Director of a supported living agency for individuals with Autism and intellectual disabilities to completing medical rotations at the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership. This breadth of experience allows me to offer comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments and diagnostic clarity for neurodivergent adults and teens, helping them move beyond survival into a life of empowered, authentic presence. My therapeutic approach is deeply integrative, moving beyond traditional talk therapy to address the specific architecture of the neurodivergent brain and the traumatized nervous system. I masterfully weave together evidence-based modalities like CBT and DBT with depth-oriented frameworks including Narrative, Humanistic, and Buddhist psychology. Drawing on thirty years of experience as a professional movement instructor, I emphasize somatic psychology and Yoga Therapy as essential tools for nervous system regulation. By incorporating clinical hypnotherapy and positive psychology, I create a neuro-affirming space where you can re-story your life and find emotional steadiness. Beyond my clinical work, I am an active leader and advocate within the mental health community, currently serving as the President of the Washington Mental Health Counselors Association. My leadership extends to legislative lobbying and the development of professional standards, ensuring that clinicians across the state have access to high-quality continuing education. As an Approved Supervisor, I mentor the next generation of therapists with the same humanistic and growth-oriented lens I bring to my clients. My practice remains committed to providing both in-person and telehealth services throughout Washington, fostering meaningful change for those navigating the complexities of ADHD and C-PTSD.

Therapeutic Approach

At the heart of my practice is a deeply humanistic approach that views you not as a collection of symptoms to be fixed, but as a whole person with an innate capacity for growth and self-actualization. This perspective is inherently strengths-based; I believe that even the most persistent challenges often stem from creative ways your nervous system has learned to protect you. By shifting the focus away from pathology and toward your unique internal resources, we create a therapeutic space where you can shed the weight of "shoulds" and begin to trust your own lived experience. In our work together, we operate under a single guiding principle: minimize your struggles and maximize your strengths. For the neurodivergent brain and the traumatized nervous system, life can often feel like a constant battle against a world not built for your architecture. My goal is to help you build practical, neuro-affirming strategies to reduce the friction of daily executive functioning and emotional overwhelm. Simultaneously, we lean into your natural talents—whether that is your creativity, your empathy, or your unique way of processing the world—to ensure your life is defined by your capabilities rather than your constraints. This approach bridges the gap between clinical rigor and soulful healing by honoring your autonomy and your story. We don't just look at what isn't working; we actively investigate what is working and how to expand those moments of clarity and competence. By integrating humanistic values with somatic and narrative techniques, I support you in reclaiming your agency, allowing you to move from a state of survival into a life characterized by grounded presence and authentic self-expression.
