Gregory Smith
Board Certified Pastoral Counselor
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns created by trauma, anxiety, or overwhelming life experiences. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in helping adults heal from PTSD, complex trauma (C-PTSD), and dissociation. My approach is trauma-informed and focused on helping clients safely process and resolve difficult memories rather than simply managing symptoms. I integrate evidence-based methods including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), EMDR-informed approaches, cognitive therapy, narrative therapy, and guided imagery techniques. I have spent many years studying trauma and dissociation and working with individuals whose experiences are often complex and deeply rooted in earlier life events. My goal is to provide a calm, structured, and supportive environment where healing can occur at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Therapy is not simply about talking through problems, it is about helping people regain stability, clarity, and a renewed sense of control over their lives.
Areas of Expertise
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, collaborative, and focused on helping clients safely process the root causes of their distress rather than simply managing symptoms. Many of the individuals I work with have experienced difficult or overwhelming life events that continue to affect their emotions, relationships, and sense of identity. I draw from several evidence-based and trauma-focused methods, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), EMDR-informed techniques, cognitive behavioral approaches, narrative therapy, and guided imagery. These approaches allow us to work with both the emotional and neurological impact of trauma. In our work together, the pace of therapy is always guided by safety and stability. My goal is to help clients understand their experiences, reduce distressing symptoms, and develop a stronger sense of internal stability and personal identity. Over time, many clients find that as unresolved trauma is processed, they experience greater clarity, emotional regulation, and freedom to move forward in their lives.
