Deadra Clewell
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (PhD), Nationally Certified Counselor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy and work with individuals experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, emotional distress, relationship difficulties, and personality-related challenges. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process traumatic experiences, improve emotional regulation, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting change.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that every person deserves to be seen and understood as an individual, not as a diagnosis or a number in a system. With more than 25 years in the mental health field and a background in the U.S. Army Reserves, I bring a mission-driven mindset to the work I do with clients. Service, integrity, and respect guide my practice and shape the way I approach each therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, valued, and safe enough to explore difficult experiences. My work is trauma-informed and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR to help clients process past experiences, build emotional regulation skills, and move toward meaningful change. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I tailor treatment to each individual’s goals, strengths, and life experiences so that therapy becomes a collaborative and empowering process.
