Shenera Boodie
I’m a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) in Pennsylvania with training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing, and EMDR (beginning October 2025). My approach blends evidence-based therapy with whole-person care—addressing the mind, body, and spirit. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University and believe healing is both a psychological and spiritual process. I work with adults navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, life transitions, and spiritual disconnection, creating a space grounded in compassion, clinical insight, and biblical principles for those who request it.
Areas of Expertise
Therapeutic Approach
My work is guided by the belief that healing happens when the mind, body, and spirit are treated as one. I use evidence-based therapies such as DBT, CBT, and mindfulness practices, combined with somatic and trauma-informed techniques that help clients release what the body holds when words aren’t enough. What makes my approach unique is the integration of both science and spirit. I honor each client’s belief system while offering a calm, nonjudgmental space where faith and psychology can coexist. I view therapy as a partnership—one that focuses on helping clients rebuild trust in themselves, understand their emotional patterns, and cultivate self-compassion through grounded, practical tools. For those open to it, I also invite spiritual reflection, drawing from the Hebrew Scriptures and holistic wisdom traditions to restore balance and meaning. Whether someone identifies as faith-based or not, the goal is the same: to move toward wholeness, peace, and sustainable healing from the inside out.
