Therapeutic Approach
Therapy isn’t "fixing" people (magic wand is out of stock at Target), nor is it an echo chamber. We deal with the reality in front of us & work to accept that life is dynamic & nuanced. We can’t-and won’t even try to-make scary things disappear. But, working together to change your relationship to yourself & your challenges will help you toward your values. I stay up-to-date on the latest psychology and neuroscience research so we can help you in ways that are proven to be effective. I help my clients make sense of how their minds work and why their brain does what it does. Sessions focus on getting you closer to the life you want. Let’s work together to figure out what your patterns are and experiment with new ways of doing things. We will find what works for you. In a warm, nonjudgmental space, we can reflect on the patterns in your life that may be causing distress or difficulty. We can identify habits that aren't serving you. You may want help communicating with others effectively, becoming comfortable with the uncomfortable, or simply surviving each day. If I am on your team, we will navigate this stuff together.
